Its pretty much the same concept as a telephone conference call, except you don't use a telephone, you use your internet connection. In todays society, its rare to see a business man, or even a stay at home mom, without a computer or laptop. So, having others join the web conference should not be a hassle.
Of course if your new to conference calling, you shouldn't sign up for a conference call service right before a big merger or sale. You might come across as a bit unprofessional if problems arise and you don't know what to do. Therefore, you should try a newly acquired conference call service with family, friends, and/or co-workers in order to get the hang of the service.
